Marrakesh and Silverstone Will Challenge Drivers This Weekend

Marrakesh isn’t like Silverstone. Silverstone isn’t like Marrakesh. However, both tracks will be exciting to watch this weekend. It’s a rare weekend with both Formula E and Formula One on the schedule, so we’re previewing all the action. We start in Morrocco, where the electric cars are heating up.

Making Moves in Marrakesh

It is the first time since 2020 that Formula E is racing in Marrakesh. The last trip was the final race before the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s the fifth time that Formula E is in Morocco, as four different drivers have won the previous four races.

This Formula E season is incredible so far. Entering this weekend, the top four drivers are within 12 points of each other. The top four constructors are within 47 points of each other. So, a lot is on the line, which will push the best to do even better.

Things were heating up heading into Indonesia before the last race. This weekend looks no different. With just seven races left, every race matters for these drivers and teams. We’ll see who comes out on top in an important race weekend.

Anything is Possible at Silverstone

The British Grand Prix, and more or less Silverstone, has been dominated by Mercedes cars. In the last ten races at Silverstone, two wins were by non-Mercedes cars (Ferrari at the 2018 British Grand Prix and Red Bull at the 70th Anniversary Grand Prix). However, it seems like Red Bul and Ferrari’s race to lose.

This weekend marks the home race for Mercedes drivers Lewis Hamilton and George Russell. They haven’t finished higher than third in any race this season, so we’ll see if they can improve on that. In addition, Mercedes is the only team without a retirement so far this year. If there is any race they want to win, it’s the British GP.

Red Bull is coming in on a six-race winning streak and leads the constructors’ championship by almost 100 points. They’re entering Silverstone with a chip on their shoulder after last year’s British GP when Max Verstappen collided with Lewis Hamilton and crashed. Red Bull’s goal is for a 1-2 finish as they look to add to their impressive points total.

Marrakesh and Silverstone Are Going To Be Great

It’s the first time that Formula E will race in Marrakesh in two years. Silverstone is a technical track for any driver and will push the car to its limit. Both tracks will make for fun races and should be great to watch.
